STC threatens to withdraw of Riyadh Agreement

ABYAN, Nov. 10 (YPA) – The UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) on Tuesday threatened to withdraw from the Riyadh Agreement, that was signed with Hadi’s government in November 2019.

Informed political sources, said that the STC delegation, threatened to withdraw from the Riyadh talks, after its militias suffered heavy losses on Monday, in which 14 members of his militia were killed and wounded by Islah militants fire in al-Taryah area in Abyan province.

 

The sources noted that the STC rejects the implementation of the “military and security component” of the Riyadh agreement, amid a Saudi attempt to revive the agreement in favor of Hadi and al-Islah militants, which guaranteed their return to the City of Aden.

 

Other sources said the STC pushed military reinforcements from Aden province towards the city of Zinjibar, the capital of Abyan.

 

The UAE-backed militias have tried to advance towards the position of Islah militants in  the al-Taryah in the past few hours, but have suffered significant human and material losses.
