Corona infections exceed 10 million in United States

SANAA, Nov. 9 (YPA) – The number of new infections with the Corona virus, in the United States of America on Sunday exceeded ten million mark, with the third wave sweeping the country.
Thus, the United States is the first country in the world to reach this huge number of infections since the start of the pandemic.
With this number of infections, the United States has a fifth of the number of global infections, which on Sunday exceeded 50 million cases of Covid-19.
This surge in the number of infections comes with the approaching holiday season, when many people think about whether they will travel and attend indoor gatherings with friends and relatives, which are situations in which the risk of transmission of the virus is high, as public health experts say, according to the “New York Times” website.
The United States recorded about the tenth million during the past ten days, at the highest rate of infection since the country recorded its first case of the emerging coronavirus in Washington state 293 days ago, while it recorded the ninth million within two weeks, which indicates the rapid spread of the disease in the country, according to the newspaper.
The United States counted a record number of COVID-19 cases, which reached 131,420 on Saturday, and recorded more than 100,000 cases four times during the past seven days.
