Sport Minister’s murder falls under political assassination: Secretary General of Presidency

SANAA, Oct. 27 (YPA) – The Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Republic, Hassan Ahmed Sharaf al-Din, on Tuesday said that the assassination of Minister of Youth and Sports Hassan is “political par excellence.”

Sharaf al-Din pointed that Zaid is within a list of political characters that Saudi-led coalition countries had set and allocated money rewards for killing them.

“The assassination of Minister Hassan Zaid is an attempt to strike at the project of coexistence and building the modern Yemeni state,” he said in a statement to Al-Masirah TV channel.

He referred that the ideas of the martyr Hassan Zaid were credited with achieving many reconciliations between political parties and among society components.

Commenting on the rumors of the coalition forces, Sharaf al-Din said: “We are in a united internal front that cannot be shaken, and we do not liquidate even our political opponents, and everyone knows our integrity in the conflict.”

The Secretary-General of the Presidency called on the security services to expedite the arrest of the perpetrators, appreciating their efforts in following up those involved in the crime.
