Protesters gather outside French ambassador’s residence in Zionist entity

SANAA, Oct. 25 (YPA) – Protesters gathered outside French ambassador’s house in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, condemning  French president’s remarks about the widespread caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

About 200 people gathered in front of the French ambassador’s residence in the occupied entity, carrying banners written in Arabic, chanting slogans defending the Prophet after they finished the evening prayer supper in Jaffa, according to France 24.

The protesters accused the French president of playing the role of the extreme right and insulting Islam.

The move came after Macron vowed to intensify his campaign on what he described as “radical Islam”, following the killing of history professor Samuel Paty.

The teacher, Samuel Paty, was murdered after he had shown cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed during a class he was leading on free speech.

French President Emmanuel Macron called on his citizens to report any illegal content that encourages hatred, or to defend terrorism online.

He has described the stabbing in a Paris suburb as a terrorist attack by Islamists.

“A man who killed a history teacher, because he showed his students at the middle school of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad, this is a target for our freedom of expression,” Macron said in remarks quoted by Reuters.
