US Ambassador to Tel Aviv: Riyadh played a role in the normalization agreement and will join it

SANAA, Oct . 23 (YPA) – A US diplomat said that Saudi Arabia had a clear role in the normalization agreement signed between the UAE, Bahrain and “Israel, noting that Riyadh may join the agreement soon

The kingdom “has provided great assistance to complete this agreement, and that this was clear,” Israel Hayom reported, citing  US Ambassador to Tel Aviv David Friedman as saying on Wednesday.

Friedman did not elaborate on Saudi Arabia’s role in the deal, saying he “does not want to speak on behalf of Saudi Arabia,” but said Riyadh’s allowing to cross Israeli airspace “is a very important indicator in this direction.”

The flight from Ben Gurion Airport to Bahrain took seven hours but it only took three hours after Riyadh agreed to pass through its airspace. The importance of this position should not be underestimated, it is a very important indicator.”

But we are all very satisfied with Saudi Arabia’s assistance, and I hope it will be expanded from this moment on,” he said.

He expressed his conviction that other Arab League countries would normalize relations with Israel, and that he “has no doubt that this will happen.”
