Ali Mohsin Al-Ahmar issues pre-decisions before losing his powers

RIYADH, Oct. 22 (YPA) – The military leader in Islah Party, Ali Mohsin Al-Ahmar, has issues a series of decisions appointing his son and several of his close associates to diplomatic posts, in a proactive for any coming Saudi political changes, informed sources said on Thursday.

The sources confirmed that Al-Ahmar appointed his son Jobran, who was released by Sanaa government in a prisoner exchange, as director of relations at the Yemeni Consulate in Jeddah. He also appointed his companion, Mohammed Al-Masoudi, as officer of security at the Yemeni embassy in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, while director of his office, Ibrahim al-Shami, and his deputy director, Abdullatif Safiran, were appointed at the office of Foreign Ministry in Hadi’s government.

The sources added that Al-Ahmar rewarded manager of his financial fund, Ali Suleiman, by appointing him as a finance official in the “Ministry of Foreign Affairs”, in addition to the appointment of the son of his ‘qat supplier’, Mohammed Qanaf Al-Quhait, as a commercial attaché in Ethiopia, his son-in-law, Ayoub al-Fadhli, as a deputy military attaché at a Yemeni embassy abroad, as well as one of his relatives, named Ahmed Laheb, as a military attache in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Political observers considered the appointment decisions issued by Al-Ahmar a proactive step for the formation of a “new government”, in which he may lose his powers.
