Global trade allows EU to impose $ 4 billion on US imports

SANAA, Oct. 14 (YPA) –  European Union on Tuesday obtained the right to impose tariffs on US goods of about $ 4 billion, in response to Washington’s support for the aircraft maker, Boeing.

The right to levy tariffs threatens to stoke trade tension across the Atlantic just three weeks before the US presidential election, but negotiators on both sides say it could ultimately lead to the settlement of a legal battle that has been going on for 16 years.

The United States and the European Union have expressed interest in settling the dispute over the support provided to the two aircraft manufacturers, “Boeing” and “Airbus”, while exchanging accusations by refusing to speak seriously, as the two issues represent the largest trade dispute between companies in the world.
