Pro-coalition officer commits suicide in Marib, after being raped

MARIB, Sep. 28 (YPA) – A young officer of Saudi-led coalition forces died on Sunday in a hospital in Marib city, three days after he burned himself in protest against being raped in a Saudi camp on the border with Yemen.

Local sources reported that the lieutenant Fayez Fadhil Ahmad Al-Jaradi, from Al-Salafiya district of Rayma province, burned himself last Friday in front of the gate of the Saudi forces’ camp in Tadawin area of Marib city, after he was raped in one of the Saudi camps on the border between Yemen and Saudi Arabia.

Sheikh Hamad Al-Shabwani, a notable of Abida tribe, stated in a post on Facebook, that Al-Jaradi died defending his honor, which was violated by Colonel Abu Ramah Al-Sharabi, close to Brigadier Raddad Al-Hashemi, commander of the “Al-Fateh Brigade” in the so-called “Ketaf axis” located inside Saudi territory.

Sheikh Al-Shabwani affirmed that this is not the first case, in which cases of rape against Yemeni recruits in Saudi camps are revealed.

A report published by the “Yemeni News Portal” on June 3, revealed that leaders of the “Hadi government” forces placed hundreds of Yemeni child recruits among groups of homosexuals at the Saudi border in exchange for money they receive to overlook the rape crimes committed against those children.

The report confirmed that the children were recruited into the ranks of the coalition forces, and given military ranks in order to satisfy the desires of the homosexual officers of the coalition forces.
