Latest developments of fighting in northeast of Marib

MARIB, Sept. 24 (YPA) – Yemeni army forces and popular committees on Thursday continued their major advance towards the northeast of Marib amid major coalition collapses, According to local sources.

Local sources told the Yemeni Press Agency that army fighters backed by popular popular committees fought fierce battles against coalition forces north of Marib city, during which they were able to make more achievements on the ground, north-east of the city towards the Rawaik area and north of the Safer Oil Directorate.

The sources said that the coalition forces withdrew from all areas of al-Sabaigh and Shahla within 8 kilometers, to reinforce their fallen forces in al-Alam and Rwaik.

Moreover, the sources indicated that the army forces and committees launched a major attack towards “Suwayda” and another attack towards the oil pipeline north of Safer and Marib city.

Furthermore, the sources revealed that the army forces launched artillery attack targeting a meeting of Saudi officers and prominent military commanders in “Hadi government” which led to the death of many commanders, including Saudi officers.

Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar and other leaders of the Al-Islah party mourned death of the most prominent field commanders of the Islah party’s armed factions, led by Saleh Ali Shadhaif and his brother Fahid Ali Shadhaif.

On Wednesday, the army forces made a major military achievement by advancing towards the Safer International Line and the Rawik area, where one of the largest Saudi camps is located.
