Freedom, independence are greatest goals of September 21 Revolution: Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthis

SANAA, Sep. 21 (YPA) – The Leader of Yemeni Revolution Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi said on Monday that the greatest goals of the September 21 Revolution are freedom and independence.

“Without freedom and independence, people would live in a state of colonialism, subservience and servitude,” he added during a televised speech aired this afternoon by Al-Masirah TV channel on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the September 21 Revolution.

Sayyed Abdulmalik explained that the Revolution of September 21 is a starting station through which the people set out from the dark past to build the future on the basis of the principles and values they belong to.

The Leader of the Revolution indicated that the Yemeni people can never accept the confiscation of their freedom and independence.

“The Americans set their sights on Yemen before the September 21 revolution, with hostile, colonial and illegal motives, most notably the strategic location of Yemen and its natural wealth,” he said.

They realize that if the Yemeni people are in a liberal situation, then they have the qualifications to have a positive and significant role in the reality of the nation, he added.

Sayyed Abdulmalik renewed the assertion that “the Americans deliberately increased their interference in Yemen after the events of September 11, in order to push the authority (the former regime) into a civil war by targeting the free people.”

He pointed out that the American interventions were dangerous, and the American ambassador was interfering at the official level in all ministries and military, security and political institutions, and opened a program in all state institutions. “The American ambassador went to the popular situation to coordinate direct relations with some sheikhs, authorities, and regions.”

“We saw clearly how the situation in Yemen deteriorated on the moral, economic, political, security, and military level, and the structure of the country, in which the American ambassador was gnawing like woodworm,” he said.

The Revolution Leader affirmed that the Americans had worked with their clients to reinforce all that paves the way for direct American control and removes the elements of power from the Yemeni people.
