Detainees are subjected to physical torture in coalition prisons in Marib: Sources

MARIB, May 16 (YPA) – Detainees in the prisons of the  Saudi-backed militias in Marib province were subjected to brutal physical and mental torture, a local source in Marib province told Yemen Press Agency.

Acceding to the source, Hassan Abdullah Zayed al-Sharif died under the torture after being kidnapped nearly two years ago from a market in of Marib city.

Hassan al-Sharif is not the only case who had died under torture in Saudi-backed militias prisons, confirming that there are many cases of prisoners who died as a result of torture in prisons of the Saudi-led coalition, the source added.

There are appalling human rights violations inside the coalition’s armed prisons in Marib, and the complaints of the detainees’ relatives have not heard by the leaders of Saudi-backed militias, the source said.
