Reinforcements, military visits threaten to blow up situation between Islah, STC in Lahj

LAHJ, Sept. 10 (YPA) – Tensions have escalated in the confrontations lines between the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council and Islah militants in Lahj province, informed sources said on Thursday.

The sources confirmed that the commander of the so-called fourth military region, Major General Fadl al-Omari, visited a number of recently established sites in Al-Sabiha areas, which borders the 4th Infantry Brigade loyal to Islah Party.

The sources pointed out that the area of Tur al-Baha in al-Sabiha has been experiencing security tensions, as both sides make new military sites and sending reinforcements.
Observers say the visit of the STC’s military commanders to the sites carries messages to Islah forces that they are ready if they go up militarily in those areas.

It is noteworthy that Islah Party had dropped in late August the directorate of Tur al-Baha, the western gate of Lahj province, and formed a joint operations room with the forces of the second brigade Giants, one of the most prominent opponents of the transitional.
