Navigational telecommunication system at Sanaa airport is about to suspend: Official
SANAA, Sept. 6 (YPA) – Director of Sanaa International Airport, Khaled al-Shayef, said on Sunday that the navigational telecommunication system is about to stop and the effects of this are greater than the airport’s closure of flights.
In a statement to Al-Masirah TV channel, Al-Shayef pointed out that the airport administration had informed the office of UN envoy to Yemen and international organizations that “the amount of fuel is about to run out and that it is unable to receive their flights.”
He explained that “the United Nations flies a plane with one passenger on board, while the Yemeni people are suffering under siege and embargo.”
Al-Shayef affirmed that the volume of aid arriving through Sanaa International Airport is symbolic, and it is like “throwing dust on eyes.”
Saudi-led coalition prevented medicines that were reaching people with incurable diseases through Sanaa airport without any justification other than deepening the humanitarian crisis, he added.
