SANAA, Aug. 29 (YPA) – British authorities have deported a number of migrants who have arrived in the UK illegally, including Yemenis.
British authorities have sent back home migrants who have arrived illegally to the UK in recent weeks, and the British Home Office has said “we will not encourage migrants to stay in Britain.”
Most of the deportees come from Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Sudan, Iran and Kuwait, while a number of organizations have begun collecting signatures to protest against deportation policy, according to the Swedish Information Center.
About 40 migrants at the British Centre of Brook house went on hunger strike to protest the deportation.
SOAS association has supported detainees and seeks to break the isolation and support of migrants in their causes and to counter the deportation policy.
Activists have called for the closure of the Brook House detention centre, and the association has posted an online petition to collect signatures in protest against the government’s policy, which it will address to British Home Secretary Priti Patel.
