Hospital staff start strike after assault on doctors in Aden

Aden, May 15 (YPA) – Doctors at the Friendship Hospital in the southern port city of Aden on Tuesday began a strike to protest harassment and assault on doctors inside the hospital.

The move came after one of the hospital guards on Monday evening aimed his automatic rifle at Dr. Nahla Airishi and Dr. Ahmed Bahala, chased them outside the hospital, and beat Dr. Bahala.

The hospital’s staff demanded that Aden security department quickly arrest and prosecute the perpetrator.

The city of Aden and the southern provinces, under the control of the forces loyal to Saudi-led coalition, have been witnessing an insecurity state and complete absence of the state, amid a wide spread of armed manifestations.
