Angry protests broke out inside Ataq prison

SHABWA, Aug. 26 (YAP) – Angry protests broke out on Wednesday inside the central prison in Ataq city of Shabwa province, sources said.

According to the sources, about 35 prisoners went in fainting cases, as a result of the riots and protests inside the prison yesterday, amid extreme secrecy in the central jail affiliated with the Islah Party militants in the city.

The sources confirmed that the prison administration prevented the entry of food to the prisoners and kidnappers, in an attempt to stop protests against the prison administration, adding.

The sources explained that the Islah sent security reinforcements to quell the prisoners’ protests, who demanded their release, due to no charges have been brought against them.
