Former President calls STC to suspend Riyadh negotiations

SANAA, Aug. 24 (YPA) – The former southern president’s son, Hani Ali Salem Al-Baidh, called on Monday the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) to suspend Riyadh-run negotiations with the Saudi-backed exiled Hadi government.

Al-Baidh said on his Twitter account that the continuous escalation and violations of the truce repeated by the Saudi-backed Islah militants in Abyan, the STC should announce the suspension of negotiations with the “legitimacy”.

He added that suspending negotiations is the simplest solution to a ceasefire against called “southern forces” in Abyan.
Al-Baidh stated that the instructions and directives for the continuation of firing and the renewal of confrontations in Abyan had been issued by the legitimacy residing in Riyadh.
