Fierce clashes erupted in Abyan

ABYAN, Aug. 23 (YPA) – Violent clashes broke out on Sunday between armed groups in Yemen’s southern province of Abyan, according to sources.

The sources affirmed that the clashes erupted between the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC)’s militias and tribal militants in the city of Zinjibar, the capital of Abyan Governorate.

The sources added that The sources pointed out that erupting the clashes came after a citizen of sons of al-Maraqasha area was attacked by the STC militants, which various arms were used in the clashes.
