SANAA, Aug 20 (YPA) – US President Donald Trump has stated that the UAE is interested in purchasing modern American F-35 fighters and is willing to pay “huge sums” for them.
Trump expressed, during a press conference on Wednesday, his confidence that the UAE “has sufficient funds” to pay for the planes, indicating that the potential deal is under study.
He added, “We will see what happens.”
Media reports have recently been talking about a possible deal between the United States and the UAE, indicating that it comes as one of the conditions for normalization between the UAE and the Israeli entity.
For its part, Israel denied the validity of these reports, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described them as “false.”
Netanyahu’s office confirmed his entity’s opposition to selling the United States modern weapons to countries in the region, including F-35s.
