14 people killed, injured in Idlib explosions

DAMASCUS, Aug. 15 (YPA) – Two civilians, including a child, were killed and three others wounded as a result of violent explosions on Thursday at an ammunition depot and headquarters belonging to non-Syrian foreign fighters in the western Idlib farms area.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said in a statement that the injured were transferred to a hospital in the area for treatment, bringing the death toll from the explosions to six, including two civilians, in addition to eight fighters injured, including three civilians.

The statement had indicated that the same violent explosions had resulted in four deaths and five injuries among non-Syrian foreign fighters. The injured were transferred to a hospital for necessary medical care.

The explosions also caused heavy smoke plumes and sparked panic among residents and passersby in the area.

This coincided with the flight of drones in the airspace of the area, which witnessed significant disruption as residents rushed to move away from the vicinity of the explosion.
