SANAA, July 7 (YPA) – The Russian army announced its intention to manufacture an advanced marine minesweeper.
Russia Today website quoted the commander of the navy in the Russian army Nikolai Yevimov as saying in a statement: “The plan was developed to develop a new marine minesweeper within the framework of the governmental project number 12700,” noting that this sweeper will be called Lev Chernovin and will be produced in the Russian Sridny Nevsky factory to build Ships.
Yevimov added: This Alexandrite ship will be dedicated to the Pacific Fleet in the country’s army, and the factory will start building it on the twenty-sixth of this month, in conjunction with the celebration of the anniversary of its national day by the Naval Forces in the Russian army, stressing that all ships built by Russia of this type showed capabilities High efficiency and excellent work and reinforcing systems.
The admiral and head of the shipbuilding division of the Russian Navy, Vladimir Triabichnikov, had previously indicated that Russia would seek to build 30 new Alexandrite minesweepers until 2050.
