Yemen’s tribes condemn ongoing siege by coalition against oil derivatives ships

SANAA, July 5 (YPA) – Yemen’s tribes strongly condemned on Sunday the arbitrary actions and the ongoing siege imposed by the Saudi-led aggression coalition against the food, oil derivatives ships.

The tribes, in a statement delivered to the UN office in Sanaa, denounced the shameful silence by the United Nations and the International community towards arbitrary acts and heinous crimes committed by the aggression coalition against the Yemeni people, in a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter and international humanitarian law.

The statement affirmed that the UN silence encouraged the coalition states to continue to commit more crimes against citizens and destroy infrastructure of Yemen in light of the outbreak of the Corona pandemic and continued detention of oil derivative ships, food and medicine.

They said “what Yemen is being exposed from the heinous aggression, blockade, targeting civilians, occupying parts of the homeland, cutting off salaries, violations and crimes carried out by the aggression and its mercenaries, in addition to closure of Sana’a International and preventing the maintenance of Safir ship, have aimed at destroying Yemen and pushing millions of Yemenis to starvation.”

The tribes held the United Nations and the aggression states full responsible for humanitarian crisis that target the Yemeni people as a result of seizing oil and food tankers and the siege imposed by the coalition on Yemen for more than five years.

Meanwhile, the head of Tribal Cohesion Council, Sheikh Dhaifullah Rassam, affirmed that the Yemeni tribe, with all its sheikhs, elders and children and women, stand alongside with the Yemeni army and leadership in confronting the aggression and its mercenaries.
