Saudi military commander calls on STC to eliminate Islah

RIYADH, July 4 (YPA) – Saudi military analyst Hassan al-Shehri on Saturday called on militias of the so-called “Southern Transitional Council” (STC) backed by the UAE to eliminate militants of Islah party in the occupied provinces in southern Yemen.

Al-Shehri advised, during a televised interview on “Al-Ghad Al-Moshriq” TV channel, the STC’s militias to continue their fight against the Islah party militants and to switch from a confrontation and defense process to the offensive to eliminate the groups of Islah militants, which he said “have practiced corruption, terrorism and destruction in the southern provinces and Yemen as a whole.”

Al-Shehri affirmed that “the complacency with the Islah party militias, and condoning their actions will lead them to commit more criminal acts and repeat attempts after another to destabilize the security and stability of the southern provinces.”

It is worth noting that retired Brigadier General Hassan al-Shehri was commander of the forces known as the “Peninsula Shield” during the US-led war on Iraq in 1990.
