Hamas: Storming “Handala” ship, kidnapping its passengers is crime of piracy and terrorism

GAZA, July 27 (YPA) – Hamas Movement condemned, on Sunday, the interception of the humanitarian ship “Handala” in international waters by the Israeli occupation forces, describing the incident as a “crime of piracy and terrorism,” stressing that it is a “blatant challenge to the will of the international community.”

In a statement, the movement praised “the courage of the international solidarity activists who sailed towards the Gaza Strip to transport aid and break the siege,” holding the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fully responsible for their safety.

The statement said: “These actions represent the living conscience of humanity and expose the falsity of Israeli allegations and international complicity with the continued suffering of our people under siege and aggression.”

Hamas also called on the United Nations and human rights organizations to assume their legal responsibilities and called for condemning the crime and pressuring the Israeli occupation to stop the war of extermination and starvation.

It is worth noting that “Handala” is one of the ships participating in an international campaign to send relief convoys to Gaza, amid ongoing Israeli escalation to obstruct the delivery of aid to the besieged Strip.
