SANAA, June 17 (YPA) – Activists on Social media sites (Twitter and Facebook) have launched a wide-range online campaign criticizing the UN’s removal of Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates from the blacklist of children’s rights violators, which is as “an attempt to clear the coalition of its crimes in Yemen.”
Thousands of human rights activists around the world participated in the campaign by posting photos and videos documenting the coalition’s war crimes against Yemeni children under hashtags #الأمم_المتحدة_شريك_بقتل_الأطفال and #UNIsAPartnerInKillingChildren.
The activists condemned the international complicity with the Saudi-led coalition backed by a direct US-British support, on Yemen for five years, and “international silence on its crimes against humanity, in exchange for money, arms deals and trade.”
