India expels two Pakistani officials for involvement in spying

SANAA, June 1 (YPA) – Two officials working for the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi were expelled after being detained on charges of espying , the Indian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.

“The Indian law enforcement agency arrested Pakistani officials on Sunday,” the ministry added.

The government stated that they had been declared “undesirable persons” for what it described as “activities inconsistent with their status as members of a diplomatic mission.”

The authorities expect them to leave the country within 24 hours.

Reuters said officials at the Pakistani embassy in New Delhi could not be reached for comment.
