Video: UN humanitarian coordinator sends plane to rescue her driver in Sanaa

SANAA, May 31 (YPA) –  Activists on social media circulated a video footage showing a private plane taking the driver of the UN humanitarian coordinator based in Yemen, Lise Grande, out of Sanaa after he was infected with Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The video shows a keen interest and a quick and practical reaction by the UN to the illness of its own driver in Sanaa, sending a private plane immediately to take him out of Yemen for treatment in order to save his life.

While it has been unable to cope with hundreds of thousands of patients for years waiting for treatment, the United Nations has not endured the same fate.

The video reveals the facts of inability of the United Nations and the lack of resources and the authorities are not entirely real, and this is the latest of its extraordinary position on the air embargo on Sanaa international airport, to help one of its sick staff in Sanaa.

While the United Nations and its UN envoy to Yemen remain silent and at best procrastination for its promises to lift the air embargo on Sana’a airport to treat patients outside Yemen, it seemed entirely different with any of its staff.

After years of procrastination and promises, the united nations and its envoy to Yemen and the Health Organization announced the operation of air bridge flights to help patients, but the flights were quickly stopped without justifications.
