SANAA, May 8 (YPA) – A 5.1 magnitude earthquake hit the town of Damavand in northern Tehran province, Iran’s Seismic Monitoring Center said.
Several aftershocks ranging from 2 to 2.5 degrees hit Tehran and its neighboring cities after the first quake hit the capital, the center said.
The center noted that some residents of the capital Tehran took to the streets for fear of new earthquakes, where the quake was felt by residents of Tehran, Qom, Qazvin, Mazandaran and Al Barz provinces.
