Law issued to amend Customs Tariff Law

SANAA, May 3 (YPA) – The Law No. (6) of 2020 was issued on Sunday, amending the Customs Tariff Law No. (41) of 2005 and its amendments.

The amendment of the law included (3) articles that included:
– Exemption from customs duties for the inputs of the renewable energy system, provided that they are new and according to the approved standard specifications, and whose tariff lines are defined in the table shown in this amendment.

– Exempting cars that operate, in whole or in part, by solar or electric energy, from the customs duties, whose tariff lines are specified in the schedule indicated in this amendment.

– Exemption from customs duties for agricultural equipment that are powered by renewable energy wherever it appears in the tariff schedules after their classification, and defining their identification item by a decision of the Minister of Finance based on the proposal of the head of the Authority.

The last article stipulated that this law should be enforced from the date of its issuance, and to be published in the Official Gazette.
