Corona deaths in US rise to nearly 30,000
SANAA, April 16 (YPA) – Deaths from the new epidemic of the Coronavirus in the United States rose to nearly 30,000 on Thursday, after a record increase in the number of daily deaths.
Reuters reported that the deaths in the United States on Thursday amounted to 29,751, an increase of 1305 cases, with many states not announcing their deaths yet, while cases of infection across the country exceeded 615,000 and in the world two million cases.
The agency noted that the United States recorded 2,364 deaths yesterday, far exceeding the number of April 10 deaths that reached 2069.
Governors of the worst affected states – New York, California, Louisiana, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Michigan – said that more extensive testing was needed before the start of ending the US public isolation procedures due to the Corona virus, which had kept millions out of business as a result of the closure of restaurants, businesses and schools.
Despite the high number of deaths, there are few signs in some parts of the country that the outbreak has begun to subside.
At the end of last week, the United States became the first country in the world in terms of the number of deaths caused by the deadly epidemic.
