WHO warns against easing restrictions imposed to combat corona
SANAA, April 14 (YPA) – The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned against easing the stringent measures being applied around the world to combat the emerging coronavirus.
“Now is the time to be careful … now is the most careful time,” said Michael Ryan, an expert with the international organization.
For his part, the head of the organization, Tedros Adhanum Gebresius, stated that everyone who takes the first steps towards a return to normalcy must adhere to certain conditions, which include, as a minimum, the ability to quickly identify and isolate patients with the disease.
Gebresius warned that although the Corona virus is spreading quickly, it is receding very slowly.
Gebresius explained that the Corona virus is ten times more dangerous than the swine flu (H1N1) disease that spread in 2009, calling on individuals to change their behaviors and take into account the social divergence in order to avoid infection with the virus.
