Senior military leaders loyal to coalition captured in Marib

MARIB, April 11 (YPA) – Unites of the Yemeni army and popular committees on Friday evening arrested senior military leaders loyal to Saudi-led coalition, including head of secret torture prisons in Marib province, in an ambush in al-Aqsha area, sources told Yemen Press Agency.

The sources said that among the arrested are Ali Hassan bin Gharib, torture officer in prisons of Islah Party in Marib, in addition to a large number of military leaders and their companions, including Khald al-Arada, brother of Marib governor in Hadi’s government, and bin Jalal, one of the notables of Al Jalal tribe.

Meanwhile, there are inconsistent information about the presence of Sheikh Mabkhoot Nasser al-Sharif, head of the Islah party branch in Marib province, among the captured.

The ambush targeted the military leaders’ cars near Labanat desert at al-Aqsha site between the city of Marib and al-Hazm city, the capital of Jawf province, according to the sources.

On October 13, 2018, bin Gharib sold the prisoners of the army and the popular committees to Saudi Arabia, after he personally supervised their torture in the Islah Party’s secret prisons in Wadi Abidah in the city of Marib.
