Omani FM calls to resume peace efforts in Yemen

SANAA, March 31 (YPA) – Omani Foreign Ministry on Tuesday called on the Saudi-led coalition forces and the National Salvation Government in Sanaa to calm and to allow the United Nations to complete the cease-fire and resume efforts of peace.

The Ministry, on its Twitter account, affirmed that the resumption of the political process in Yemen, is the only way to achieve security and stability in the region.

The ministry said it followed with great interest the escalation of military operations launched by the coalition in Yemen, expressing its deep concern about these developments.

The Omani Foreign Ministry statement coincided with the coalition’s military escalation, which would predate the failure of the efforts of the UN envoy and a UN Secretary-General call for peace in Yemen.

The Sultanate of Oman plays a neutral role in the Yemeni conflict for achieving a political solution for end the political crisis and external interference in the country.
