Sudanese PM survives assassination attempt
SANAA, March 9 (YPA) – Sudan’s Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok has survived an assassination attempt in the capital, Khartoum, according to Sudanese TV.
In addition, the Sudanese media office said, in statements to “Sputnik”, that “the prime minister is in good health after his assassination attempt in the Kobar area near the capital Khartoum,” noting that the cabinet will issue a statement shortly on the reports of the assassination attempt.
The channel “Sky News”: “The information indicates that an explosive device was used to detonate the car,” stressing that no party has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
The channel quoted eyewitnesses: “The explosion occurred east of the Copper Bridge, northeast of Khartoum, and targeted two cars, one of which was carrying the Sudanese Prime Minister, which resulted in one person being slightly injured.”
