North Korea fires three missiles

SANAA, March 9 (YPA) – North Korea fired three missiles off its east coast early Monday morning, a week after two short-range missiles were launched, the South Korean military reported.

Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said the three launches were made from an eastern coastal town in the North’s South Hamgyong province, which hosts a military airbase.

Last year, missiles were launched from the same area.

Seoul launched two short-range missiles that landed in the sea off the east coast on March 2 after a three-month hiatus.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un himself oversaw the launches, which officials said were routine military exercises.
