America, South Korea postpone joint military exercises because of Corona
SANAA, Feb. 27 (YPA) – South Korean military officials said onThursday
Seoul and Washington will postpone joint military exercises until further notice, amid the growing Corona virus in South Korea, which has now infected soldiers from both countries.
According to the South Korean news agency Yonhap, “South Korea and the United States decided to postpone their joint military exercises in the spring, due to increasing concerns about the spread of the new Corona virus (Covid-19).”
“The two sides were initially planning to conduct training and computer simulation command center exercises in March, but they decided to postpone it until further notice in light of the South Korean government announcing the highest level of alert against the new Corona virus,” the joint forces command said.
This is the first time that an infectious disease has affected the agenda of the joint military exercises between South Korea and the United States.
