7 people killed in earthquake struck Turkish-Iranian border

SANAA, Feb. 23 (YPA) – Turkish Interior Minister, Suleiman Soylu, announced the death of seven people and the injury of five others, as a result of the earthquake that struck the Turkish-Iranian border on Sunday, according to Turkish Anatolia Agency.

The minister also mentioned that the victims included three children and there are still Turkish citizens under the rubble.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center has announced that a 5.7-magnitude earthquake struck the border region between Turkey and Iran early on Sunday.
The European Seismological Observatory reported that “an earthquake measuring 5.7 degrees struck western Iran, 141 kilometers from Tabriz,” according to Reuters news agency.
He added that the quake was at a depth of five kilometers.
