Conoronavirus death cases rise in China

SANAA, Feb. 18 (YPA) – The number of deaths from the coronavirus outbreak in mainland China rose to 1,868 at the end of Monday, up 98 from the previous day, the National Health Committee of China said on Tuesday.

According to the Health Commission of China’s Hubei Province, the number of deaths from the new CORONA virus increased by 93, bringing the number to 1,789 on Monday.

The number of coronavirus cases within the region, the epicenter of the virus’s spread, rose by 1,807 on Monday, bringing the total number of cases to 59,989, the Commission said on its website.

In mainland China, the number of new confirmed infections reached 1,886 on Monday, bringing the total to 72,436.

On December 31, Chinese authorities informed the World Health Organization (WHO) of an outbreak of mers-Coruna-induced pneumonia in Wuhan city, in the central part of the country, and has since spread the virus to several countries.

According to the World Health Organization, outside China, 694 cases of new coronavirus have been detected in 25 countries, including three deadly cases.
