SANAA, Feb. 9 (YPA) – The differences gap has widened between military formations of the so-called “southern transitional council” loyal to the UAE, in south of Yemen.
The new positions this time came from Yusran al-Maqtari, commander of what is known as the “anti-terrorist team”, which was formed by the UAE under the banner of the Transitional Council, after statements he posted on his Facebook page that revealed a lack of harmony between the UAE agents in the southern Yemeni provinces.
Al-Maqtari denounced the arrest of a group of his recruits, and blackmailing them at a security point, by elements of the separatist leader, Osan al-Anshli, one of the most important men of Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, president of the Southern Transitional Council.
He accused al-Anshli’s gunmen of breaking into a house and wounding a woman, and sticking the incident with his forces (the anti-terrorist team), as he said.
During the past years, the UAE has recruited approximately 90,000 recruits from the southern provinces in several irregular military formations., away from the legitimacy of Hadi in order to serve its agenda in Yemen.
Despite the large number of pro-UAE forces in southern Yemen, they are not homogeneous with each other, as they were formed according to mostly regional criteria.
