Libyan Parliament calls for Arab intervention to counter Turkish invasion
TRIPOLI, Jan. 15 (YPA) – The Libyan Parliament’s Speaker Aqeela Saleh on Wednesday called, during his speech to the Arab Parliament in Cairo, for an Arab role to confront what he called the “Turkish invasion” in Libya.
Saleh addressed the opening session of the Arab Parliament, saying “the international community installed a presidential council in Tripoli that granted Turkey the right to interfere in Libya.”
He affirmed that UN-brokered “Skhirat agreement” no longer exists on the ground, indicating that the reconciliation government did not take the constitutional oath before parliament as stipulated in the political agreement.
