Somalia al-Shabaab attacks military base in Kenya

SANAA, Jan. 5 (YPA) – Western media reported on Sunday that the Somalia al-Shabaab terrorist group attacked a joint US and Kenyan military base in Kenya’s Lamu region.

Reuters quoted private sources as saying that al-Shabaab stormed a military base in Kenya’s Lamu district used by the US and Kenyan forces, but it was not clear whether the attack resulted in deaths or injuries.

The attack indicates the extent to which the group is determined to continue its deadly bomb and  attacks despite being driven out of its bases in the Somali capital Mogadishu and elsewhere for years.
