Strange disease kills sheep, goats in Abyan

ABYAN, Dec. 23 (YPA) – A strange disease affecting sheep and livestock has spread in the UAE-backed Southern Transitional council controlled Abyan province, southern Yemen, local sources reported on Monday.

According to the local sources, the strange disease has affected sheep and secretes “worms” that lead to death in various areas of al-Mahfad district.

Most of the residents in al-Mahfad district depend mainly on raising sheep and goats for their living.

The disease, which is spreading among sheep is disaster, causing heavy losses to citizens, as hundreds of sheep die suddenly.

The citizens called on Hadi’s government to send veterinary teams to detect the disease before it spreads, which threatens all the directorate’s livestock and neighboring provinces.
