Supreme Medical Council organizes symposium on medical ethics

SANAA, Dec. 5 (YPA) – The Supreme Medical Council on Thursday organized in Sanaa a scientific symposium on medical ethics, with the participation of heads of public and private hospitals from different provinces, doctors and academics.

The symposium, which was attended by Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Hussein Hazeb and Chairman of the Supreme Medical Council Dr. Mujahid Maasar, discussed six working papers.

The working papers dealt with the development and controls of medical ethics, the medical ethics from the point of view of law, pharmacist ethics, physician relationship with society, and ethics in university curricula.

In the symposium, Hazeb pointed to the importance of this symposium in promoting the profession of medicine as a human practice, not profit and trade.

He explained that the Ministry of Higher Education have worked in cooperation with the Ministry of Health to circulate teaching the ethics of the medical profession in universities that teach medicine, since early 2018.
