2 killed in shooting at US base

SANAA, Dec. 5 (YPA) – A US Navy soldier opened fire at Pearl Harbor military base, Hawaii, leaving two people killed and injuring a third one working for the Department of Defense, the U.S. military reported on Wednesday.

The sailor shot two employees and then committed suicide, according to the US army statement.

“One person was killed and the other two were taken to hospital,” the US army added. The statement stressed that the situation is under control.

The shooting happened around 2:30 p.m. at Dry Dock 2 in the shipyard at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Navy Region Hawaii spokeswoman Lydia Robertson said.
