Defense lawyers of Hadi, officers charged with treason present their response to Court

SANAA, Dec. 1 (YPA) – The Central Military Court in Sanaa held on Sunday its fifth public hearing to try 11 officers accused of treason and facilitating the entry of the enemy into the territory of the Republic of Yemen.

The 11 defendants in this case are:
1 – Field Marshal / Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi
2 – Lieutenant General / Ali Mohsen Saleh al-Ahmar
3 – Major General / Mohamed Ali Ahmed al-Maqdashi
4 – Major General / Abdullah Salem Ali al-Nakhei
5 – Major General / Haitham Qasim Taher
6 – Brigadier General / Ahmed Hussein Saleh al-Aqili
7 – Brigadier General / Fadel Hassan Mohammed al-Omari
8 – Brigadier General / Hashim Abdullah al-Ahmar
9 – Brigadier General / Amin Abdullah Hamid al-Waeli
10 – Colonel / Tariq Mohammed Abdullah al-Ahmar
11- Lieutenant Colonel / Yahia Hussein Abdullah Salah

The hearing was attended by the defendants’ defense lawyers, who presented their defense petition.

At the hearing, evidence was read out before the defense representatives, and the Military Prosecution requested an opportunity to response to what was presented at the hearing and to provide a list of supplementary evidence and a detailed memorandum of the facts included in the indictment.

The Court decided to enable the prosecution to present its response in the next hearing.
