SANAA, Nov. 27 (YPA) – Sources at the presidential palace in Lebanon said that President Michel Aoun would hold all necessary parliamentary consultations on Thursday to choose the head of the next government in Lebanon.
According to Reuters, the next prime minister will not be Saad Hariri.
The agency confirmed that the former Prime Minister had stated that he did not want to assume the presidency and that he had described the decision as “frank and categorical”.
“I declare to Lebanese people that “I am sticking by the rule ‘not me, rather someone else’ to form a government that addresses the aspirations of the young men and women,” he said in a statement.
Hariri resigned on 29 October, following anti-government protests across the country.
