Activists launch online demonstration against Saudi presence in Mahra

MAHRA, Nov. 10 (YPA) – Political activists announced the launch of a campaign on social media websites at 8:00 pm on Sunday to condemn Saudi military interventions and ambitions in Yemen’s eastern province of Mahra.

According to activists, the campaign calls for the rejection of the Saudi military presence in Mahra province, where Riyadh sought to deploy its military forces in in camps and various locations, some in residential areas, all outside the official frameworks.

Activists questioned the purpose of the presence of these forces in the province, away from conflicts and military confrontations.

“Mahra is a safe province that did not witness any security imbalances until the arrival of the Saudi forces that worked to establish militias, violate human rights, and seek to plunder the wealth of the country,” they said.

Participants in the campaign confirmed that their endeavors aimed at addressing the international community and influential international institutions about the Saudi plan for the occupation of Mahra province, as well as informing international organizations of the violations practiced by Saudi Arabia against the sovereignty and human rights of Yemen.
