Militias backed by UAE kill, injure 22 gunmen on Saudi coalition in Taiz

TAIZ, April 23 (YPA) – Violent clashes that took place on Monday in Taiz city between gunmen of the so-called Mihwar commander, backed by resigned Hadi and the militias of Abu Abbas backed by UAE led to 7 dead and 15 wounded, among commander gunmen, Yemen News agency correspondent reported.

Military force stormed the headquarters of the Department of Public Security and a number of government offices controlled by the so-called Abu Abbas’ gunmen.

Dozens of Abu Abbas’ gunmen were arrested in the clashed by commander gunmen.

Local sources confirmed to Yemen Press Agency that armed clashes broke out after a campaign lunched by Taiz governor appointed by Hadi against armed militias loyal to the UAE in various neighborhoods of Taiz city.

The province of Taiz has been in a state of security chaos since 2016, amid armed conflicts between the militias funded by the UAE, Saudi Arabia and the organization of Daesh.
