Hadi’s governor seizes property of UAE occupation in Socotra Island

SOCOTRA, Oct. 20 (YPA) – Security sources in Socotra province  on Saturday revealed that the pro-Hadi governor has seized the property of the UAE occupation on the island.

Faiz Tahis, newly appointed by Security of Islah Militia on the Island, explained that the UAE representative Khalfan al-Mazroui has seized an area of 150,000 square meters of state land on the island.

He pointed out that investigations have been completed in all areas and the looted land, and the trend to issue orders to restore them and the demolition of the walls and buildings built in them, residential and tourist buildings.

In recent days, Socotra’s activists revealed that the UAE  has built the largest  fish factory, along with a supermarket and a villas complex inside the island’s historic citadel.

Hadi’s governor Ramzi Mahrous, who took over the UAE’s property on the island, went after he was overthrown by collecting signatures from local councilors in the districts of Hadibo and Qalansiya, and assigning “Salem Dahiq”  to run the affairs of the province instead.

Tahis’s moves come after Hadi’s forces sent new reinforcements to the island from the first military zone, consisting of military pickups and armored vehicles, which arrived on a Saudi military transport plane.
