Deputy PM calls UN to intervene to release held oil ships

SANAA, Oct.12 (YPA) – Deputy Prime Minister for Services and Development Dr. Hussein Maqbouli on Saturday called for the United Nations’ intervention to release the imported oil derivatives ships held by Saudi-led coalition to alleviate the worsening humanitarian situation.

During his meeting with the UN Resident Representative and Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen Lise Grande, Dr. Maqbouli referred to the arbitrary measures of the aggressive coalition that reflect its determination to thwart all peace efforts.

The meeting touched on the disastrous repercussions of the continued detention of oil, medicine and food vessels by the coalition and the prevention of their access to Hodeidah port.

Maqbouli praised the UN Humanitarian Coordinator’s efforts to facilitate the entry of ships of oil, medicine and food products.

Grande confirmed the UN’s keenness to continue to help the Yemeni people and provide their needs, expressing readiness to exert efforts to release the held ships of fuel and food and ensure their access to the port of Hodeidah.
